This Crazy World
Def. becoming more evil with each day. Not better. I don't know how much longer it will last(the Earth)....A beautiful semi Fall day here in WV though. Hey what did we do without TV, Computers, Cell Phones, etc? I remember just the basics growing up and I seem to be just fine for not having them. People today need to step back from this rat race and all this fast communications and just "be". What do we really need other than clothes and food and some kind of roof over our heads? Not much more....

The Ides of August
August that last fling of summer. But as with all romances, something sinister creeps in. You can feel it, sense it, then you realize, ah ha! It is Fall that is creeping in. The signs are now obvious, cooler mornings, fog, that certain something in the air. Around here they claim each day of Fog in August, means one snow day in the Winter.

What makes a place good to live?
1. Near Coast/Mountains
2. Friends/Families
3. Small town feel, churches, activities, unique places
4. 4 Seasons
5. Not too expensive
6. Not too crowded
7. One large city nearby

COLDS IN JULY
Nothing beats a summer cold for pure misery..you are sick enough to feel bad and stay home, but not bad enough to go to bed. Leads me to reminiscing...I finally will get to eat some steamed blue crabs this fall in Maryland...what could be finer that eating steamed crabs in the fall(to the tune of nothing could be finer, than to be in caroliner)!....it is a hot end of July day, but we haven't had many of those. Tomatoes are capote, so are the sunflowers(for the most part)peppers are looking very vigorous)....and so it goes.

Monday Morning Blues
What is tough about life is the routine of everyday. You get up, and then you go to bed, and what was done in between? I am tired of floating through life. I need some plans and goals, but do not know anymore where to begin, or even what for. I just know I don't want to drift through how many more years I have before I die and see nothing accomplished.

SUNDAYS
I find Sundays so sweet. Too bad, they have fallen out of favor in our Modern World. A day to reflect, to worship the LORD, to gear down from the fast paced life we live.

THOSE IN GLASS HOUSES
Thinking of the news on Gov. Sanford of SC...who of us, under great pressure, would not crack? We all have our weak spots. Of course the news media will hound him, and the public, to leave office. May we all take time today, to say prayers for him and others in the public eye.

SIMPLE SUMMER DAYS
I wonder, since I am approaching 50, if it is time to reflect upon life. What really matters? I say it is friends. After food to eat and clothes to wear....all else is empty, such as chasing after bigger and better homes, cars, stuff! TOO MUCH STUFF is just that...but friends, they fill you with joy and purpose and can be a Geiger counter to you, to keep you on track to where you are headed.

Growing up Eastportarican
Simple summer days, growing up on the Bay, not a care in the world, crabs, swimming and the good humor man...oh how I long for the simplicity that was the life in Eastport(Annapolis)MD before the rich discovered it.
